The Waxing Truth...

By Mark Barela on Sep 29, 2014

Waxing your cabinets probably isn’t something you really think about. If you really want to protect your cabinetry, it’s something that you should start doing!

Your cabinets are furniture, right? You probably dust or wax the wood furniture in your home, right? Well, your cabinets need the same care, if not better, as the furniture pieces in your home.

Cabinets endure a lot of wear and tear over the years. Opening and closing doors and drawers. Splashing water while washing dishes. Splattering grease while cooking. There is a lot going on with your cabinets that you probably turn a blind eye to. Also, wood cabinets expand and contract and can dry up in winters months with heaters on in your home.

Don’t worry, it’s not too late to start and it doesn’t take a lot of time. All you need is some orange oil and a rag. Please, don’t use abrasive cleaners like the “ones” in the aerosol cans. These types of cleaners can eat away at the finish on your cabinets. Take my word at it, orange oil works the best. Orange oil removes everyday dirt and dust and adds luster to your cabinet finish. Orange oil can also help keep your cabinets from drying. All you do is spray on your cabinets and then wipe off. It’s that simple!

To keep your cabinets protected and looking new, wax your cabinets once a month and you’ll be good!
